Board of Directors

Each of the Directors serving on the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s Board is personally dedicated to the search for new and improved therapies for scleroderma patients. They volunteer their time, energy and resources to guide the Foundation’s efforts in funding and facilitating the highest quality research in pursuit of these improved therapies and, ultimately, a cure for scleroderma.



Luke Evnin, PhD, Chairman

Luke Evnin, PhD, ChairmanLuke Evnin is a general partner and co-founder of MPM Capital, a dedicated investor in life sciences. He is a director of several pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. He is a scleroderma patient and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2000. He has served as Chairman of the Board since 2002.

 

Kristen Baker Bellamy

Kristen Baker BellamyKristen Baker Bellamy is an actress, writer and television host who lost her mother to scleroderma. Her work on the television program Extra has helped to increase scleroderma awareness and she remains dedicated to raising its profile. She also serves on Kidstock’s Committee providing scholarships for inner-city children to attend college. She joined the Board of Directors in 2008.

 

Dana Delany

Dana DelanyDana Delany is an award-winning film, stage and television actress. She played the title role of a scleroderma patient in the film For Hope. She joined the Board of Directors in 1998.

 

Sharon Dobie, MD

Sharon Dobie, MDSharon Dobie is a Seattle based physician, community leader and philanthropist who has experienced scleroderma in her family. She became a member of the Board of Directors in 2017.

 

Susan Feniger

Susan FenigerSusan Feniger is a nationally recognized chef and restaurateur. She was a close friend of SRF founder Sharon Monsky and became a founding member of the Board of Directors in 1988.

 

Eric Kau, MD

Eric Kau, MDDr. Kau is a Board Certified urologist and founder of the San Gabriel Valley Urology Group in the Los Angeles area. His family has recently experienced scleroderma. He joined the Board of Directors in 2015.

 

Saville Kellner

Saville KellnerSaville Kellner is a business leader and is CEO of Lake Industries, JLS Financial, Black Card Radio and EggBank. In addition, he is a spokesperson for the Nevada Development Authority. He is also a scleroderma patient and joined the Board of Directors in 2013.

 

David Knoller

David KnollerDavid Knoller is a highly accomplished and award winning producer and director, known for HBO’s Carnivàle (2003), Big Love (2006), and Starz’ Power (2015). He is also a scleroderma patient and joined the Board of Directors in 2015.

 

Violetta Merin

Violetta MerinVioletta (Vi) Merin is a New Jersey based community leader and philanthropist. A friend of Sharon Monsky, Vi has been involved with the SRF since before our formal founding. She became a member of the Board of Directors in 2017. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Arthur Zimtbaum Foundation.

 

Bob Saget

Bob SagetBob Saget is an acclaimed actor, comedian, director, writer and producer. Among many other television shows and movies, he wrote and directed the telefilm For Hope, chronicling his sister’s struggle with scleroderma. He joined the Board of Directors in 2002.

 

Dan Welch

Dan WelchDan Welch is an Executive Partner for Sofinnova Ventures, Inc. and formerly CEO of Intermune. He is an executive with over thirty years of experience in world-wide, multi-country and national roles, in biotech and multi-national pharmaceutical companies. He joined the Board of Directors in 2015.

 

Deann Wright

Deann WrightDeann Wright is a community leader, attorney and former medical researcher. She joined the Board of Directors in 2000 and, in addition, serves as our volunteer President.

 

Caryn Zucker

Caryn ZuckerCaryn Zucker is a New York community leader and philanthropist who has experienced scleroderma in her family. She became a member of the Board of Directors in 2004. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the 92nd Street Y and the Fresh Air Fund.
