Cool Comedy-Hot Cuisine

SRF's Flagship Event

Cool Comedy – Hot Cuisine is the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s flagship fundraising event. The annual gala features several courses of epicurean delights and attracts some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Since its inception in 1988, Cool Comedy – Hot Cuisine has raised millions of dollars for groundbreaking research and has offered an unparalleled opportunity for increasing scleroderma awareness.

Over the years, the “Cool Comedy” portion of the evening has included live performances by such stellar comedians as Dana Carvey, Rodney Dangerfield, Ellen DeGeneres, Arsenio Hall, Jay Leno, Rosie O’Donnell, Bob Saget, Garry Shandling, Lily Tomlin, George Wallace, Robin Williams, and the late John Candy.

Big name stars at Cool Comedy-Hot Cuisine

Cool Comedy – Hot Cuisine is known for its big name stars, fabulous food, and for increasing scleroderma understanding.

The “Hot Cuisine” is, in a word – Astounding! Celebrity chefs Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken (television’s Too Hot Tamales and owners of the award-winning Border Grill and Ciudad restaurants) have been with us since the beginning to create mouth-watering memories that have guests begging for recipes (which are often available – in addition to once-in-a-lifetime adventures – as exclusive auction items).

Press coverage of Cool Comedy – Hot Cuisine is always phenomenal and has included pieces on Oprah, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, and various network news programs, as well as print coverage in national newspapers, People Magazine, In Style Magazine and other leading periodicals and scientific journals.

Cool Comedy – Hot Cuisine has become synonymous with big name stars, celebrity surprises, and scleroderma awareness. Supermodels Rebecca Romijn Stamos and Carol Alt were spotted playing with tropical blue parrots at the 1998 Copacabana themed event in Santa Monica; and singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow performed an amazing acoustic set at SRF’s 2001 star-studded extravaganza in Universal City (Hollywood). The 2002 event is scheduled for Friday, November 1 in Los Angeles…Call 805-563-9133, ext. 18 for more information.
