Are there any alternative medicines or therapies that show promise for scleroderma patients?

The Scleroderma Research Foundation conducts research based on scientific methods. Unfortunately, many alternative therapies have yet to be studied under such methods. There is not yet enough evidence to support any of these treatment options. We do advocate for behavioral and lifestyle changes such as yoga, biofeedback and meditation that may help increase flexibility and reduce the mental stress from having scleroderma or other illnesses. If you are aware of any scientific evidence that supports any type of therapy – alternative or otherwise – we encourage you to Contact Us so that we can forward the information to researchers and clinicians who may benefit from the data.
